The ClickBank Profit Club Explained in Plain English

In my previous two posts, I have talked about why I joined The ClickBank Profit Club and some of the mistakes I think are very easy to make when trying to earn money through affiliate marketing.

But I haven’t really explained what The ClickBank Profit Club is or why its approach appealed to me.

So that is what I want to do here.

No hype and no promises about making thousands of dollars overnight.

Just a straightforward explanation of how I understand the system and why I decided to give it a try.

What Is The ClickBank Profit Club?

At its simplest, The ClickBank Profit Club is designed to give you a structured way of approaching ClickBank affiliate marketing.

That word structured is important to me.

There is an enormous amount of information available about affiliate marketing. In fact, finding information isn’t really the problem.

The problem is knowing which information you actually need and, more importantly, what order you should do things in.

You can spend hours watching videos about choosing products, building funnels, writing emails, creating content, generating traffic and using different pieces of software.

I know. I’ve done it.

You can learn a lot while achieving remarkably little.

What attracted me to The ClickBank Profit Club was the idea of having a process to follow rather than continually deciding for myself what I should be doing next.

It Starts With a Free Membership

This was obviously one of the things that initially caught my attention.

You can join The ClickBank Profit Club as a free member and get access to the members area.

For me, that’s a much better proposition than being asked to pay a considerable amount of money before you really understand what you are getting involved with.

I could join, look around, start going through the information and decide whether the approach made sense to me.

There are paid options available, but you don’t have to start there.

I think that’s an important distinction.

The Idea of Building an Asset

This is probably the part of the approach that has made me think the most.

The objective isn’t simply:

Find product → Get click → Hope for sale.

Because what happens if the person doesn’t buy?

You have generated the traffic, perhaps even paid for it, but that visitor has disappeared.

Instead, the idea is to build something of your own along the way.

In this case, your email list.

Someone finds your content or advertising, visits your page and, if they are interested, chooses to join your email list.

You now have the opportunity to stay in contact with that person.

You can provide useful information, follow up and introduce relevant products when appropriate.

Of course, joining an email list doesn’t mean somebody is suddenly going to buy something. There are no guarantees.

But you have built something you didn’t have before: a way of communicating with people who have already shown an interest in your subject.

That makes sense to me.

Why Does the Order Matter?

This is another part I particularly like.

Imagine sitting down tomorrow morning and having this list:

Choose a ClickBank product.
Build a website.
Create a landing page.
Set up an autoresponder.
Write an email sequence.
Find a traffic source.
Create content.
Set up tracking.
Learn all the software.

Where do you start?

The temptation is to do a little bit of everything.

The result can be that you are extremely busy but never actually finish anything.

The alternative is much simpler:

Do the first job. Finish it. Then move on to the next one.

This probably appeals to the project manager in me.

I’ve mentioned before that one of the questions I used throughout my working life was:

What does success look like?

Once you know the answer to that, you can work backwards and determine what needs to happen to get there.

That is essentially how I am trying to approach this.

What The ClickBank Profit Club Doesn’t Do

I think this is worth mentioning because there is so much hype around making money online.

Joining a members area doesn’t make you money.

Watching training doesn’t make you money.

And having access to a system doesn’t guarantee that the system will work for you.

You still have to implement it.

I haven’t been a member long enough to tell you that The ClickBank Profit Club has produced fantastic results for me, because it hasn’t had the opportunity to do that yet.

What I can tell you is why I joined and what I think of the approach as I work through it.

As I get further into the system, I’ll share what I actually do and what happens.

Good or bad.

I think that’s more useful than writing another review telling you everything is wonderful before I’ve actually tested it.

Why I Like the Approach So Far

For me, it comes down to simplicity.

Not necessarily because every individual part of affiliate marketing is simple, but because having an order in which to tackle those parts makes the whole thing feel much more manageable.

I don’t need another 50 ideas.

I’ve already got plenty of those.

What I need is to choose a direction, build something properly and give it a fair chance before disappearing down another rabbit hole.

The ClickBank Profit Club gives me a framework within which to do that.

Whether it ultimately works for me is something we’ll find out together.
